Thank you. That's more information than I had before. I thought it might be called a "hoop" chair also. I don't know the difference. It looks as if Papasan chairs had removable cushions where this chair here has integrated upholstery. I just wonder who the designer is or if it is generic?

The upholstery looks pristine considering it age. Probably re-done. these chairs were everywhere in the 60's.

I suppose you could look up the "local union #" and see where it was located in the 60s. That might give you a starting point if you want to go into the woods.

I grew up with a chair that looked like this in our rec room (NOT a family room, but a wood paneled room in the basement!). It was upholstered in black Naugahyde and swiveled. We got it at Sears. It was my favorite chair! And remarkably comfortable, too.

Too bad they weren't good at stamping!

I'd love to have a set of those.

One thing which may or may not be different about this chair is that it swivels! 😆

Also, thanks for that Wikipedia link! Very helpful. So that label say alot about the green upholstery but nothing about who made this chair.
