Are you in California? Most av self pollinate there but at four feet tall you might not be getting a good enough volum of mixed flowers. Do you get tiny fruit that abort?

Hi Kevin - yes, I'm in the SF Bay area. The tree does get flowers, but I haven't seen them form any tiny fruits, like I typically see on our citrus trees. Wondering if getting another tree would help, or is there something I can do to increase flowering?

While the tree is small yes it would help to get an alternate type. I think the problem now is the tree is so small there are few flowers open in the window of some male/some female. It’s a small window of time during the day and if pollinators dont visit at that time they won’t set fruit

I am in Sunset zone 15. I didn't think I had any tiny fruits, but after you mentioned it , I took a closer look and think I may have a few. Does this means they are being pollinated, but still worth getting another tree to increase the chances of more fruits, or is there something that can be done to help with the growth/prevent drop of these precious few fruits? Not necessarily, unpollinated will still start like that and drop quickly abort the fruit. Even pollinated fruit will drop if the tree thinks it’s not ready to hold them. Time will tell with these. Avocados love water and you have a sign dry season there. Water well and always mulch avocados. They should be bermed as well prone to root rot in cold dormant months
