Dishwasher - need advice

Dishwasher died - 20+ year old Kitchenaid & parts are no longer available. We're gutting and redoing the kitchen in the fall. Can I buy a new dishwasher, install it in my elderly kitchen, and then reuse it in the new kitchen?

Also - not looking to spend more than $600 or so. Are there decent, not-too-loud dishwashers in that price range that get dishes clean without having to pre-wash them before putting them in the dishwasher? Years ago, I had an Insinkerator brand dishwasher that will forever be my gold standard - all stainless, adjustable racks, and I NEVER rinsed a dish, just shook off any bits and pieces of food and threw the dishes and pots and pans into the dishwasher.

My current dishwasher, a Kitchenaid (came with the house), has a bunch of different cycles. I don't use them. All I want are a durable dishwasher with "wash", "pots & pans", and a setting that heats the water. I don't even care if it doesn't dry the dishes. We keep that turned off now.

I just want a basic, really good-at-washing-dishes, dishwasher. And can I transfer it to the new kitchen?
