I'm sure you can find comments about DuChateau, but not this line. Surprising to see a 3" wide engineered considering wide planks are the rage these days. Coloring? All hardwoods will change color in one form or another. Some may be noticeable and others not.

Minimal wear layer at 2mm. Curious as to the price tag per square foot.

It is about $5.50/sq ft from the vendor we are buying it through. Would you recommend going with a higher wear layer? What is ideal? I am still open to changing brands at this point...nothing has been ordered! We live on our family farm, so will absolutely put some wear on it :). I do want to stick with engineered since we live in Missouri and have both the humid summers and snow in the winter. We bring in a lot of moisture on the floors.

I did like the 3" wide planks. I thought it looked a little more traditional farmhouse. It has a natural oak color with an ashy undertone which is what drew me to it.

this wear layer is 2mm. It's their 'budget' line which isn't a bad thing. Most folks say min 3mm but I think 2mm is ok and wood is 1/2" thick which is also good. When I was looking it was >$7 but I was looking at wider planks.

@Mary Conway Hi Mary! Just checking to see if you did, in fact, go with the Guild collection from DuChateau and if so, your thoughts on how it is holding up? I am considering the color Hailee from that same collection.

Agreed! Do NOT choose DuChateau. Horrible customer service and they say it’s perfectly acceptable for the floor to splinter in MANY places and impale your feet with splinters that must be dug out. Save yourself the court costs and choose a reliable brand that cares about quality and safety.

@Danielle Huber What DuChateau product did you have splintering with? This "guild" line is a newer cost effective alternative that uses laquer instead of hardwax oil so the splintering may or may not apply. I'm looking at it, hence the question.
