Love the idea of a red fridge! Where do you get one?

-- What a wonderful kitchen! You have a lot going on and you want to emphasize those special architectural details. Since refrigerators are not all that exciting to look at, think about matching your cabinets or going black for the finish. I see that your cabinets are green and that the appliances are white. The white dominates the room so you miss other details. So, to make the room appear more pulled together, blend in the appliances by going dark with the DW, fridge, etc. panels.

To further clean up the lines on this wall, paint it a dark color. Then it will all blend in together and make the room more relaxing.

Too much red and green will get a holiday feeling. I'd prefer to see the green continued and a countertop that matches the table - maybe butcherblock!

Meantime the red fridge which I was planning to buy is Turkish made. VESTEL is the maker

Muge Cakir, I think you'd have to check with a paint store (or one of the big box home stores) to find out the best type of paint to use, but I know it can, and has been, done. And since paint is an option, what about a color like eggplant (my favorite) or reddish terra cotta?

the best way to know for sure is cover the fridge with tag board and paint the colors you want to try. LIve with it awhile, then you will know for sure. Just a small can of the paint will not cost much and I would try the different color suggestions already given. Try the red (although I agree it might be too much) and then the eggplant and then the terra cotta. It will give you a different perspective for the whole room. Good luck!

well, I like the idea of terra cota .. maybe only one appliance can be terra cota the others might be green as the cupboards to lighten up a bit and the soften the colours, terra is nice . Of course if I can find the special paint. I will check with the producers

I wrote to the painting companies and waiting an answer meantime checked over d-c- fix I think I can also use d c fix over the fridge but not so sure about the dishwasher and the owen because of the heat. If it is ok to use shall I choose black incase can not find exact colour of green ... or maybe black for dw and owen and terra cota for fridge?

I think if you keep it that white, it would keep the kitchen from being too holiday-like. I really love the style you have there!

I'm not sure where you are located but there are people who spray paint appliances for a living with a durable paint which can be color matched and no streaks. I don't recommend your doing it. I like the idea of a burgundy red as opposed to a bright red. If you change out the frig, then get one that takes wooden panels and you can insert metal cutwork panels, blackboard panels, any color panel, etc. What a great home!

I don't have good advice for the fridge, but I wanted drop in and say your kitchen is a breath of fresh air. I adore everything about it.

-- Since I feel that your kitchen reads a little bit Tuscan or a Native American, it might help you to plan your colors for your kitchen if you wallpapered the wall that they are on in something tuscan and fun or Native American Indian and fun. and then choose colors that are in the wallpaper for your appliances. Wallpaper just that wall and make it the focal point of the kitchen. Be sure to factor in the color of your ceramic tile backsplash. Other wall colors should be taken from this wallpaper so that the room is cohesive.

Find an Native American pattern or a wallpaper that looks like ceramic lile - in colors you love and feel you can use throughout your kitchen and repeat in some way in the famiyroom.

Hi Muge! YES! OF COURSE YOU SHOULD GET A RED FRIDGE, IN A VINTAGE STYLE. THEY MAKE THEM NEW. Your kitchen is eclectic enough, with beautiful accessories (like the rugs with red that will be great!) and the fabulous architectural details. Any matching, or standard white would be too boring for you, I can tell! The green in your cabinets is not a bright green, and will not look llike the holidays, because you dont have your house all ginger bread. I always have at least one or two pairs of red shoes, because they go with everything, and make any outfit better. I think I've always wanted to be Dorothy (Wizard of Oz)

not nice! I like a red refrigerators but have only seen one (Home Depot 2 years ago) Also recover dining chair seats with bold red print (big floral on off-white background) and ad 2-3 red metal ware things (bowl?, colander? vase? red graniteware? to place atop the green cupboards. More red "stuff" that is not functional WILL look Christmasy all year long. How about treating yourself to a red Kitchenaid (big one) mixer to set on the counter? I love the openness of your kitchen but will need to always look functional AND "picked up"!!

P.S. Read other comments....I suggest the other appliances be their original white...that would make your red fridge corner look very special ! and stop the long wall of "necessity " items ! Does that make any sense?

...a happy person just before me, I see. I think a red fridge would fit here better than almost anywhere else I've seen a red fridge proposed. Heartland Appliance makes a retro line that includes red. But it is fairly expensive, and has chrome accents that might be a bit glitzy for your setting. I agree with Scott design above re: getting one painted. I think getting a simple model that fits your space (leave a little door-swing room) and taking it to an agreeable auto body shop before you even bring it home would be best idea. If you are replacing the current fridge, then I suggest you go buy some tremclad in a can, and play around with the current fridge.$20 in paint, you could try red, or green, or cream, and see which you prefer before sinking a lot of money into the new one. Paint this one, live with it for a week or two, and it will help u decide! Gloss, satin.. Lots to think about before a major purpose!
