I really don't think it matters. It's not something I would even be concerned about/looking at when I tour a house. FWIW - I *hate* TVs above fireplaces, I think they detract from the fireplace, but acknowledge it's a personal preference. So some of your buyers would think it looks nice, others won't -- but either way it's not going to make or break your sale.

Is the TV wired with hidden cable and electric connections? And is placement easily viewed from bed? If so, leave it.

Leave it. I would want to know where all TV connections are located, and having the TV there will clearly indicate that there are connections above the fireplace. Just ensure wires are hidden so that the look is not messy or cluttered, as that WILL be a detractor.

We're a "no bedroom TV" couple and it wouldn't matter a lick whether a potential home purchase was staged with or without a TV.

I'm of the no electronics in the bedroom camp, but it wouldn't bother me during a house tour unless the connections were poorly located so art would not cover them up adequately.
