IMO the shower curtain is bad. But I need to see the whole bathroom since that is what you are asking about . What kind of bulbs are in the light fixture ? Is that just a shower or a tub/ shower combo? NEVER paint a floor unless you really love the worn out look and especially not laminate. Get a new top for the vanity it will not be expensive and well worth it for the next 5 yrs.and then add a gold faucet there.I love the print . If you must have a shower curtain I would go really simple and the same with the bath mat. BTW in a tiny bathroom I often just roll the mat and place on the toilet tank when not in use. i think a really pale green would work.

I love the idea of wallpaper and will look into that once we get our fan swapped out with a more functional one.

Anthropologie has a lot of fabulous colorful wallpapers. Please post an update when you are ready.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting thank you for the feedback, I agree that the current curtain is a bummer. My last bathroom had much more natural light and it didn't seem as sad in there... The current lighting is old but we have swapping lighting on our list as the current fan/light combo doesn't work well and the vanity light is not ideal (currently a Hollywood light which you can sort of see in the listing photo below).

"Behind the curtain" is just a stall shower (4 x 2.5') so a curtain is necessary until Redo 2.0 where we'd love to have a tiled shower. See some additional photos though it's hard to capture the whole room because in my current pregnant state I feel like I take up the whole room 😬 .

I appreciate your feedback on the floor, sounds like we'll leave that off of the DIY list. As for the vanity top, I've been assuming that would be expensive but will look into some options. I've never thought about storing the mat, it sounds like a good option! I will look into some pale green options. Thanks again.

New faucets may have different connectors (3/8 inch vs. 1/2 inch) due to water restrictions, so it may not be an easy one-hour swap. If you want to update your faucet, look for new chrome handles for the model you have. A wall mounted medicine cabinet next to the door would give you space for storage.

I love what you've done so far -- great work! For sure a shower curtain is an easy transformation. I'd look for something light, either white or mostly white with a bit of your colors mixed in. What color is your door trim, or is that all wood?

The only other thing I might consider is a change to a different (but still inexpensive) faucet, which would make the whole sink feel fresh and new for the duration.

I will definitely be looking into swapping out the faucet. I did it in my other bathroom with not much trouble but there isn't much room to work in here, which is probably why I've avoided it. But every time I use these fugly handles, I cringe. So probably time to make a move.

It sounds like a faucet change is in my future, fingers crossed for easy DIY plumbing. So far this house has shown a few quirks in that department :) Thank you for the recommendations, this forum is giving me plenty of inspiration to keep going!

If it were me, I would wallpaper only the easy walls, not the one with the toilet and sink. Wallpapering behind a toilet can quite awkward. That area can also be quite hard to clean. But if you want the full jewel-box look, then do all the walls, getting someone else to help with the awkward parts.

oof, wallpaper adds a whole additional level of complexity. plus, a drag to remove again in a few years if you really do an overhaul then. not sure I'd go there in a master.

No wallpaper -- very washable paint only.

Hardware, including door hinges, should be stainless steel so it can best withstand moisture.

Instead of "art", since there is no natural light, consider a faux window w/light instead.
