Under Deck Screening Solutions- Lower Deck Make over

last modified: 6 years ago

UPDATE: sorry for confusion... The upper deck is screened in - the lower deck is not screened in and is NOT going to be screened in. We are looking for creative ways to install screening in the joists of the upper deck (which is the ceiling of the lower deck). In the first picture you can see that we inserted screening between the Upper Deck Joists that screening has gathered debris, so we need to remove the screening and replace. Hopefully that clears up questions.

We have 2 tiered deck - upper deck off main living area is screened in and used almost daily in spring, summer and fall - we screened in under the upper deck to keep the room bug free. Dilemma- we are making over the lower deck - young adults now use lower deck for their outdoor space and screening for upper deck is in need of repair- debris has gathered over the years and needs to be replaced and more finished - we are considering replacing the screening same method as used in past but looking for ideas. We plan to paint the underdeck white - and ideally looking for way to remove debris from screen in an easily accessible way. Looking for creative ideas to this unique problem.
