pull the plant out of the pot.. see whats hiding down the inside edge ...

that looks like damage from a pretty big critter.. you should be able to find it ...

That's a rat's hole!. Fyi I moved the pots near that hole in the last few days only (to isolate the plants form others). But the issues were there for a while, but do you think rats like Ti leaves?

I’m pretty sure it’s snails and nothing to do with the hole. I had the same plant with the same damage and it was snails.

I should be able to trim off the damaged leaves right?

A local garden store thinks its snails as well. Gave me something to get rid of them.

If snail eradication doesn't solve the problem check for grasshoppers. That's what does the damage here.
