You could paint the front door an accent color - something in the blues.

Add one potted plant between the two windows - tall and green with a blue or black pot planter (ceramic or other attractive container). And you can add two smaller containers on either side of the front door like below. I would also add a welcome mat with the colors repeated (yellow, blue, white). It will make your front door much more friendly.

If you don't need the area for parking, spread a layer of gravel to flatten the area and hide the asphalt. Then place some large, wooden planter boxes around the perimeter with tall plants in them. A wooden fence would be even better.

I would take off those tiny shutters and store them in the basement, then get a nice colorful planter for each side of the front door. Consider painting the door itself a periwinkle blue. It's a cute house, but there's only so much you can do about the feel of all that cement.

New warm and welcoming front door color, and a couple of BIG pots, either evergreen or colors. No gravel! Gravel at an entrance just begs to be walked inside caught in so many types soles, and it will still collect dirt, weeds over time. My nephew and his wife moved into a new build last Fall. They've been busy saving to have the rest of the entry walk and parking pad extension poured, and having a baby in the meantime. Her hardwood floors will be so much cleaner once that gravel paved. Even their garage will be cleaner.

Not certain if that door is the main entrance since it appears that it is a very high step up to it. If it is think about putting new steps in front of it to lessen that step up. Before having any pictures take ditch the car parked on the grass in back along with the other stuff under the tree.

I'd clean the entire area and add steps for the door. I'd find another place to park the cars and stage the space adjacent to the windows as a patio. In Europe you often see businesses use large planters filled with flowers to visually divide and define outdoor spaces. You could do a row of large pots down towards the road, and add some outdoor furniture to the large open area. Show prospective buyers how the space can be used beyond parking. An EXPERIENCED asphalt contractor can apply a thin layer of liquid asphalt to the top of all your paving, and then roll on a layer of pea gravel to the face of the paving. (Macadam technique) You'll end up with an appearance that looks like this and IMO it would be a plus for your property.

The way this looks, there is no garage and therefore no dedicated driveway.

I would resurface and call it a day. Any other improvements would be too expensive.

It may be the front but I doubt with that step up that anyone uses it. The overhang at the side is also a clue to where most people enter the house.

When you put your home on the market, it is best to have the buyers and their agents enter through the front door - usually. You want to make it easy for them to enter and for the initial impression the best you can show. The first 8 seconds is critical. I'm a Realtor and the front door is typically the very best first impression when selling to a primary resident (not an investor). Bringing buyers around to the side - even if they enter their own homes through the side door - gives a negative first impression because it indicates there is a problem entering through the front door. How we market homes is completely different from how we live in them.

As others said - steps - even a front porch would make a difference. Tall plants/planter on either side of the door - get rid of weeds, power wash, resurface asphalt and use color with paint and flowers.

I agree on the front door comments. Making it accessible and attractive should be priority #1. #2 Is don’t park a car in front of the house!

I think it was the blue sky and the white puffy clouds that attracted buyers - those really are some nice happy house pics! Who wouldnt want to live there? Looks like there is some greenspace in back so the paved front really isnt as off putting as one might think from the first picture.
