I have three appliances, range, washing machine and dryer, that are connected to the internet. I use all those appliances regularly but find the internet connection of no value.

My range apparently has smart connectivity, but I've never used it and it wasn't a part of the reason I chose it. It came with the range I wanted, even though it's not a feature I wanted.

It adds needless expense, and is just something else to break. Why would anybody want it to begin with? Especially from a company that can’t get basic appliance reliability right.

If you want to make an impact at your company, work on the rows and rows of Samsung appliances lining the return to manufacturer sections at the local box stores and appliance stores. Where they have the absolute worst reputation. Ask any appliance repair person. If you can find one that is willing to work on them.

Working on connectivity for a refrigerator that doesn’t even work right in the first place is a bad joke. What’s it gonna tell you that you don’t already know when you throw out $700 worth of food?

Well said. I know every connection is a loss of some privacy, so I have to be convinced that I'm getting something worthwhile in return. Not fashionable, but useful.

Wifi wasn't on my radar when I chose my GE washer/dryer but I've found it helpful. I know when my laundry is "almost" done and when it's finished. I can also get reminders that laundry has been left in the washer. If I open the app on my phone, I can see how much longer it has till it's completed, where in the cycle it is and what setting it's on. I don't find the last feature helpful. I KNOW what setting it's on.
