It will be nice to have plenty of space ready to use when the harvest gets going and life is busy. Baskets should make it easier to keep things organized. I added a few to my refrigerator and find that I have to empty them every few weeks and reorganize them. Order is not my strong point. But even if you and I do not have foods organized all the time, we will at least not have things falling out when we open the door :)

If your freezer is like mine, it doesn't stay very orderly. I have baskets too ;0)

What saves me....my freezer is now in my heated mudroom instead of not as convenient in the basement and I use it more efficiently. Which means opening the door way more often, it's manual defrost so that means it requires defrosting more often than my once a year with a cool (not cold) basement before we moved.

I try to get to it about every six months now, so at least a whole year doesn't go by with something buried that I've forgotten about ;0)

No, I don't have things organized well most of the time, but I'm trying to improve. Both of my freezers are manual defrost and I'd let them go 'way too long. The bad thing about defrosting them is the little upright doesn't have a hose in the bottom to let all the water drain out which is a bear. This is the first time I'd defrosted the big one and couldn't get the front kick plate off to reveal the place you screw a hose onto. I'd even bought a new hose to do that. Oh well, I'll figure it out before next time.
