Furniture Design Dilemma Bedroom

Storage bed but no headboard?

My husband and I are looking for a new bed. We would like built-in storage like some new beds have (drawers) but also don't want a headboard, or want an open one like the current metal frame we have. The only room for a Queen bed in our room is against a window and I would like to be able to still open/close the window without it being blocked by a solid headboard. Ideas?

If you google "storage bed no headboard" there are tons of options. You may also want to look into "platform beds with storage". Lots to choose from.

Headboard are functional. Not just decorative. Without one, you’re going to have your pillows scoot off, and be dangerously close to breaking the window if you try to prop upright. Against a wall, the bed goes creeping forward from the forces against the wall.
