The brick does not seem like a good choice, visually or physically, as it looks like building brick, not paving brick, and you don't need another material complexifying those that have already been used in the project. You're already in the dirt so I wouldn't be extending the deck. The better thing to do would be to extend the concrete, creating a step(s) as needed. If you extended the materials until they meet, how much elevation difference is there between them?

The two portions don't relate and don't need to. I would add tall plantings there to create division, dimension and interest.

Thanks! The drop is 4 7/8 “ from concrete to deck on one side and 7” on the pool side. I’m not sure yet what I’m going to do with the rest of the dirt area...there will be a walkway going from a gate towards the front of the house where people can walk in the gate and go up to the concrete area/pool. But there is a about a 7-8” step up needed there as well...as you can see currently it is just sloping dirt. So walkway and some sort of step up, then will probably sod the remainder.
