I would do 4-6 chairs depending on how often you entertain, and get ottomans that go with two of them, so you can put your feet up.

Chairs are easy to move around, I find sofas very blocky for this area, and I also find with fire pits some times you need to be able to move your chair around out of the smoke.

These are cool because the ottoman can tuck under out of the way. they can also act as an extra seat.

You may want to get a shade element as well..an easily moveable umbrella, perhaps...

Four arm chairs with ottomans ...with small tables in between...two at each end of the patio...one end with the umbrella centered on the outer edge...with maybe a rug..for the shade /work area...two for sunny seating at other end..for also pulling up to fire when needed.....to make the fire pit more inviting ..i would add a slightly wider smooth flat ledge on the top ...for drinks ...or putting the feet up close to the fire

I would do chairs since fire pits can be hot for some people that ability to move back is anice choice That space looks very small , could be the angle of the pic but really I think it needs to be bigger to allow nice seating without being close to the fire. I t appears to hve space for seating only on 2 sides , maybe just post a to scale plan of the area
