Cherokee Lettuce, a Batavia Summer Crisp ... Summer Crisp are supposed to be some of the best for summer.

I bought 3 transplants of 'Cherokee', have not shown any sign of bolting so far. Personally, I don't think lettuce is all that good to eat by now (mid June) and after, so I don't bother. I'll see if I like this 'Cherokee' soon.

I like Cracoviensis Lettuce if you want something different. A very ancient lettuce type that is SUPPOSED to bolt, why fight the plants nature, and the leaves are still decent to eat. Eat the celtuce stem too.

Same as vgkg but make mine Romaine. Can't grow any lettuce here after early June due to the heat. I could grow some in my basement under my lights but by this time of year I need a break between growing my spring seedlings and my fall seedlings.

I found an aerogarden for cheap at a thrift store. The first batch was a fail (seed was 10-15 YO!) Got some fresh mesclun mix and am hoping to have lettuce through the summer. All of my in ground lettuce bolted by mid May.

Mine is still ok. I also got an aerogarden mostly for summer lettuce and spring basil.

Jericho is a good one! I started by seed when temps were in the 90's and it's doing great. Also Butterleaf. Arugula the Italian one is awesome too.
