Where did you purchase your rose, Dingo? The bloom sure reminds me of Geschwind's Orden, but it's rare in commerce. But that's my first impression.

It's a once-bloomer. Climber. Almost thornless. Very globular/spherical buds.

I second what John just said. One time I got a mislabeled rose from RVR, and I was so upset that it wasn't Golden Buddha (which I had ordered) that I got rid of it without identifying it (kicking myself!). Later I realized that it was probably Geschwind's Orden. So it IS possible to get that rose by accident...

I got it from RVR :). Sharon I saw a note in the Prairie Belle comments that someone thought the pics were Orden. I love the bloom form & color, may need to move it if it is Orden & gets large, wish it was a repeat bloomer, hoping for a long bloom season. It's put on some decent growth already this year.

If it IS Geshwind's Orden, it will be large, and you'll love it. The two-toned blooms in mass are stunning (I hate that word, but "stunning" is the only word that fits, lol). I've always been amazed that a rose that is three-fourth's rugosa (if you believe Geshwind) could have so few thorns...

Fig the blooms are beautiful! maybe I will wait till fall or next spring & find a better spot for it, it’s got enough room for now.

I was going to guess Gilda andvif I recall correctly, it and GO are the same. It's beautiful!

Alana that is good to know - we had a cat named Gilda and I remember looking for this rose when she passed. I'll probably just name it Gilda lol
