Our home has a package unit with external ducting running into the attic. About two years ago an hvac company replaced some of the ducting and ran both the cold and return lines through the same hole the return line is largely crushed and causing major performance issues.

House is very small and no good place for an air handler. apart from that what is the right way to fix this issue? See pictures below.
