Kitchen Waterfall Island w/ Overhang Support?

I have a kitchen island with cabinets on both sides (36"+12"). I am planning on doing a waterfall edge, and wanted to do an overhang.


I am planning on doing an overhang of 12", but want to go up to 18" if possible. I have the room, but not sure if I would need additional support. If I do need support for the counter top how does the support work? Most of the ones I have seen are steel brackets that can only attach to an island overhand without cabinets.


I will be using a 2cm silestone quartz.

    You'll need additional support with 2cm. Check the manufacturer's recommendations please.
