One big rug to cover the whole area from side-to-side would help. Not two separate rugs that call attention to the offset.

I agree with your plan to replace the red brick floor, since those bricks contrast with the brick of your house. Were you thinking of facing them with stone?

That is the best photo I have at the moment. There is a walkway along the bushes and turns into the porch and door. the porch is about 50 sq ft

A big tall planter on the left side would balance the window. Fir example, you could plant a grass in it in the summer and red-twig dogwood branches in the winter.

I think it's fine!! You need a tall topiary in front of that window....and one door mat....but the red tiles are lovely. Please don't replace it with some "faux" stone crap.
If you really hate them have them jackhammered out....but really....they are very nice and add some nice color to a dark spot.

So a large rug in the front would be from where the door starts to the end of the wall where the sidelight is( vs in front of that brick wall close to door that doesnt allow for larger rug)? And does shape matter?

Yes, I’d pick a rug that nearly fills the space right in front of the door from side-to-side. Rectangular or square. A 5’ x 3’ looks like it would be about right. Or maybe 6’ x 4’ turned so the 6’ length is coming out toward the viewer.

If the bricks had deteriorated, maybe you could get bricks that match the house and treat them and the cement between them so they will be less apt to deteriorate.

You could put a plant in a pot towards the left.

The walkway to the house looks narrow and not evenly flat.

What you could do is widen and flatten it, and curve it as it leaves the driveway.
