    Hi Melissa,
Copper sinks are growing in popularity across the country because copper is naturally antimicrobial. It's important to note that they will patina, so your sink may turn green over time. But, the patina will also cover dings and scrapes in the surface of the sink.

To clean the sink, just wipe it with a dry towel to remove any soap residue.

This guide has all of the info you need on copper sinks:

    Hope that helps!

When purchasing a copper sink it is important to know that it will change and patina over time. The patina will not be even. Acids (lemon juice, ketchup, etc) can take the patina off of the area that the acid sat on. It will patina again, but you may have a shiny area for a little while. The majority of manufacturers recommend that you just clean with soap and water. As long as you can appreciate the natural aging process of copper it is a great material!

Copper is a living finish, and is always changing. The great thing about it, is that germs do not penetrate the surface. And the patina is always changing and correcting acidic marks. Check this out, a customer wrote a special birthday message in a Native Trails copper sink, and with in 7 days it practically "healed" itself.
