I have a Miele G4228 DW (their cheapest model in the US, Miele Classic). I only ever use the SaniWash cycle. I find it weird that the cycle time that it reports at the beginning can vary. I've seen it go anywhere from about 2:02 to 2:11. Any idea what causes the variation? It doesn't seem to vary with load. I tried checking the manual but couldn't find anything about it.

Many folks report smell from their dishwasher. I started getting a smell, despite doing a light rinse of all my dishes before loading (i.e. nothing in the filter after months of use). I found the problem can be eliminated by doing 2 things:

1. Dishes must be removed soon after the cycle is complete. If I'm running the machine at night, it's best to not wait till the morning to unload it.

2. Leave the dishwasher cracked open slightly when not in use. This makes sure the interior gets to dry completely between runs.
