I think the way you have it fine. With kitchen rugs, I think it's sometimes more function over form. I like to have a rug under my feet when I am doing dishes and while facing the cooktop. I go with 2X3 rugs in both those spots. It might not be the "best looking" option but works for me functionally.

Isn't LVP waterproof? As for spills, I'd rather do a quick wipe up on the floor than have to wash a rug.

I like my runner in front of my sink, and I think yours looks good where you have it. I would not put one on the other side, where it appears the pantry door might interfere.

You'll get opinions here from people who think rugs in the kitchen are tantamount to pure evil, and those who love them. There's not a lot of middle ground, but do what works best for you, of course.

Thanks for the replies! Appreciate the humor! So I’m reading that the everyday rugs with rubber backings or uber padded comfort mats are not recommended cuz the backing can discolor LVP or hardwood? Now I’m “supposed” to use all natural felt pads underneath?! These products are pricier than std rug pads! Ugh!

The rug looks fine where you have it, but I wouldn't add another. As far as colors go, we can only see a tiny corner of the valance.
