Magnificent Lower Level Renovation in Ashburn, VA

This lower level remodeling project in Ashburn, Virginia transformed a cavernous basement into a beautiful, well appointed multi-use area perfect for both private family time and entertaining. The Loudoun County, VA client wanted to create distinct spaces for different activities while maintaining an open feel to the floor plan. This was accomplished, in part, by the use of butterscotch red oak flooring throughout, beautiful wood moldings and a warm color palate.

One stunning aspect of this design build renovation included a magnificent bar featuring polished granite counters, custom cherry cabinets and stainless steel appliances, and serves the dual purpose as a secondary prep area for grilling out back. The granite is carried over to a knee wall facing the media room which was created to provide extra seating as well as to define the bar area. Task lighting incorporates both recessed and hanging pendants.

Just right for family movie night or for watching the big game, the media room features a state-of-the-art home theater and sound system. Adjacent to both the media area and bar is a beautifully appointed game room. Custom cherry built-ins complement the wood finishes in the bar area and offer ample storage and display space.

The Ashburn, VA clients are thrilled with their sophisticated new lower level family entertainment space.

Thank you for your comments! Luducklu - you can see the stairs as a point of reference in each photo - the after photo is taken from a similar angle, but a bit further away.

Thank you, Brown Bros. The new columns and arches were used to conceal the load-bearing lolly columns existing in this lower-level space.
