First,Some of you use a flexible band when you mail your daylilies. My guess is you cut a strip from a role, then tie it and write with a Sharpie to identify it. What is that called and where do you buy it?

Second, my oldest daughter is now done with the military [but still in the high security sector] and is having a terrible year for personal reasons, and for the first time in a while will have a home with a yard. She wants several daylilies that I have but also wants a large purple with a very green throat. She thought I had one, but I don't. Anyone have anything like that? Or know of anything like that?

Wind Frills

Acclaim [front] Fushia's Dream back left, noid back middle, noid right. Acclaim is not quite so pink.

Judge Roy Bean clump. Caught the long stamen and pistil.

South Seas clump

Seedling So Lovely x Priscilla's Dream slowly looking better with time. It has 17 buds, is quite tall with large bloom, neither sun nor rain bother it. Just need less splotchy color.

I call it flag tape, but I don't know if that is what it is actually called.

Wind Frills looks great, mine did not bloom much this year.

I have ordered my FLAGGING TAPE from A.M. Leonard. I would also think that Tractor Supply might carry it.

As for a purple for your daughter, wouldn't your Regal Finale or Prismatic do? My flexible plastic bands came from Earthstar, but they closed the business. My favorites are South Seas and your seedling.

Thanks for the suggestions and comments. I ordered some flagging tape from Amazon. Super cheap.

Debra, yes, Prismatic should do well! That may have been what she remembered, but it was done blooming when she got here this time. Regal Finale is too inconstant although beautiful.

Brad, interested in what you had to say about Regal Finale. I got it last year for a late season bloom. I noticed a couple of the 1st blooms are splotchy. Does it have other vices?

Regal Finale is inconsistent. Some years really splotchy, others pretty good. This year it is not only splotchy, there are only a few buds.

Sherry, I do have Laura Harwood, but Bethany just walked right by it without comment.

Brad - I'm surprised Regal Finale is so inconsistent for you. It performs well here almost every year, and is one of my least splotchy.

South Seas makes such a pretty clump. Wind Frills is also looking good. I do like your seedling!

Debra, I moved Regal Finale to a somewhat shadier spot a number of years ago because it didn't like lots of sun. Now it probably has a bit too much shade, but I have nothing much in between.
