Nay sorry ! I like industrial but this is just too messy

Very much a yay for me :-) I live in what used to be an industrial space and although I sometimes would like to live in a 'normal' house with rooms that make sense, I do love how our home has its own unique features and personality. It forces us to be flexible and creative in how we use the space. So, yes... a definite yay!

I love industrial interiors! It is one of my favorite styles, and I wish I had a house that they would look good in.

I like the industrial look .. a bit too masculine for me though.

I can't see myself napping on that couch. Not my style.

Nay. Everything one owns is right there, exposed. No storage unseen. Too cold for my taste.

I'm torn! Although I love the rawness of an industrial interior, I would love a little hidden storage in this particular space. But how about the tranquility of that bedroom? It's got to be a Yay!

Needs just a little tidying up... it is a great look! ( I'm in the mid-south, I live in a Rustic/Contemporary/Industrial home we are completing... I throw in a little shabby chic) This look is so very comfortable and not claustrophobic like so many traditional spaces... I think large light fixtures are needed.

I like some industrial touches, but would quickly get tired of the total look, particularly since it is all square corners and black, white and brown.

I do love this look but for my personal taste I would need a little more color and textures to soften some of the hard edges.

darla_t... not so. We have all kinds of angles, colors, and levels (spiral stairs-iron-barbwire, etc..) balconies and points of interest... I do know most are kind of boxy.

Normally, I don't like the open coldness of industrial spaces. But being a visual storage type person, I could see how comfortable this would be to live in. I would hang the bike as art on the wall though.

I agree with Margo C. - Would LOVE to meet whoever lives here. They are bound to be very interesting. As far as me living here though - not homey enough. A little too hard edged.

I'm a nay. With all the styles in the world to choose from, this is close to the bottom of my list. But I can understand how others would be attracted to it.

I say, nay, nay! I already worked in a factory once. Give me the soft looking comfort.

I like to add a few industrial pieces here and there in decor but full fledge industrial decor...umm my be nay.

Looks like my PaPaw's toolshed, but with a sofa in the middle instead of his workbench. I see cluttered, old, messy, cold, with some traditional furniture near a bed that looks like it's being stored in the shed. Just awful.

Too cold for me, I too am. Midwesterner and this just isn't appealing

Well-done industrial can work well. This isn't, and doesn't, unfortunately. Very confused and cluttered. Old-lady industrial? (And I say that as a woman in her 60s)

with so many conversions of industrial spaces into living spaces in France wher i used to live - because of the cheaper prcie per meter square- I think it is inspiring to work on an industrial style as a background. It can be subtly paired with period furniture or a more boho decoration. I would not myself live in an all industrial environment as i find it a bit too cold, but i really like some of the original features like metallic stairs, brick walls, visible pipes, metallic beam if they are soften by other touches.

I do love the industrial look., The creative eclectic choices are endless and it blends so well with many other styles. Who says it has to be purely industrial. If a softer look suits you add some comfy furniture or more color. Adding vintage or modern pieces could solve the storage problem. Decorating styles such as industrial shouldn't be paint by number perfect, put some of your personality in there too.

I would love to see a complete industrial kitchen using materials like this cement resin from Zampieri.

Love, love, love it. Maybe it could do with a little editing, but overall terrific. I could definitely live here.

nope :) i am always on the lookout for toe-stubbing, shin-bruising, head bumping things and industrial pretty much fits the bill :) Besides, it's hard enough to dust in a regular? home (not that i do:))
I may be off the rails here but has anyone seen House of Cards? there is an artists' home featured that i found very attractive and it was somewhat "industrial" although it was a bit softer around the edges. More my idea of what that kind of space could look like.

YAY!!! I LOVE this style! I love these spaces so much because they are uber-flexible and really bring out your creativity. My personal take on the style would include more of a juxtaposition between the old and the new, the distressed and the polished, the muted and the vibrant. I find the "bones" of these spaces so charming and warm; the crumbling brick, exposed plumbing/electrical/ventilation system components, factory windows, etc. The high ceilings allow you the opportunity to really have fun building up, creating varying floor heights, hidden storage, and enclosed spaces within the space. Traditional homes just don't lend themselves to this kind of whimsy! :)

And for those who are not endeared to the "everything on display" look - it's optional! Bringing in antique armories to house your books and knick-knacks doesn't take anything away from the industrial look if the space itself is indeed industrial. For me it's predominantly about those "bones". There are many versions of this style and as long as they're well done, I probably love them all.
