Hi.....I'm not sure what kind of help you want? Did you just paint the house in the Sparrow color? Are you more interested on landscaping ideas? I would recommend you remove the dead branches hanging off the roof, to start.

Sorry, but I wasn't clear. I have just painted the Sparrow (leaving one small section of the former Cape Cod Gray). I am wondering if I should paint the foundation cement and if so, whether you would suggest a colour that would go with the Sparrow.

Also, I feel that the entrance lacks appeal and wanted to canvass suggestions on what could be added to moreover the look. Not necessarily in landscaping, but rather construction features on the house.

The dead branch is from a Spruce tree that unfortunately is dying and will be removed next year.

Hi Coolgerry....Thanks for the response, I will check out Sparrrow and get back to you about the foundation color. I'm also thinking of an arbor leading up to the front door, but this is something I'm going to need to draw
before I know if it is a possibility. I have a few other ideas as well for the entrance, I'll get back to you asap.

Fantastic! I have been thinking that I should remove the cedar at the left side of the house. An arbor would look great there and the downspout could be directed away from the house and onto the grass. In the winter we get plenty of snow and the spring melt causes ponding that turns to slippery ice right along the sidewalk. Guess I should also say that the driveway is on house left. Sadly, no carport or garage.

I live in northern British Columbia, Canada. I'm frantically working on the backyard landscaping so that I can get hydro-seeding in before the season ends.

I have only painted one coat of the Sparrow with a view to testing the colour. Several friends commented positively but I haven't purchased more than the pint tester nor have I painted the remaining siding. That said, if you have another colour scheme in mind, I am open.

Hi....Just wanted you to know I'm working on it......I did go to the paint store for samples of Sparrow, would you tell me what portions of the front of your house are that color??? I know that color off a computer screen is
iffy, I also know that exterior is always lighter, the samples I have seem much stronger than what is on your house. I do know the arbor will be fabulous, and give your house some dimension, I have a great example
when I get all the dimensions figured out.

Hi cooljerry......I have the inspiration piece and a very rough idea on the picture of your house, trying to do
anything to scale just didn't work. So as I told you the arbor I think will make a huge difference, the
color Sparrow is ok, but if your up for trying something else, I would suggest BM Eagle Rock for everything except the fascia, where the arbor will be, (assuming it comes off the fascia will be wood), the rest should be white to match your windows (I think). The inspiration piece has the tall French doors I think would make a big
difference in the entry, as well as lighting. I don't know what would work as far as the path under the arbor, or the possibility of doing wide wood steps from the door, so that will be up to you. The vines for the arbor, I hope can be something that blooms. If possible large house numbers vertically will also help. I agree the cedar has to go.

Wow! Thanks for all your input. The stucco has not been painted. It is original with black glass from the 60's era. I have been hugely apprehensive about that leap ... It is only the four siding boards that have been painted. The facia is wood cedar and has been typically painted the colour of the siding boards. But, I agree, it can be painted white as the windows.

The house front faces East.
