Bedroom refresh!

Need ideas to give this room life. Considering extra long lucite cabinet pulls. Does anyone have a picture with long lucite pulls on a wardrobe? Couldn’t find one to get a visual. Having simple trim added to top of wardrobe for a more finished look. Lamps can go. Everything else has to stay. I like modern clean lines. Would like to pull in shades of blue/teal. Home is on a lake.

Add some colour. It’s all very neutral. Mine is too lol. But a plant or some other colours in art would really help I think. Also perhaps some new linens and pillows

I think new cabinet hardware would look very nice. You need an insert for your duvet; if you don’t want down there are down alternative comforters that are very nice. Add some decorative euro pillows to the bed and perhaps a couple more pillows! Tall crystal lams to add a bit of sparkle.

Not a designer, but here is a simple addition of teal:

And other simple additions of color.

    Hi Andrea-

If you plan to keep your bed, you need different bedside tables.

What you have there now are really side tables for a living room, and they are too short.

The top of a bedside table should come to the level of the top of the mattress.

Although not necessary, I feel it is more functional if it has drawers.

I want a place to put my eyeglasses, the book I am reading, my tube of hand cream, my chapstick, my cell phone, a pen and a pad, a box of kleenex, maybe some medication, you get the idea.

Men don't seem to need drawers quite as much as women, but sometimes they do, for their wallets and watches, and pen-knives, and money clips or whatever things are important for them.

I don't know the measurements of your bed, and it looks like you have a whole bunch of pillows.

I would purchase or have made two or three large dense foam pillows that together would span the width of your headboard so that when you sit up in bed reading they will support your back and head comfortably, and cover them with batting. They probably need to be taller than the average Euro pillow.

Then have some shams made for them in whatever pattern you like.

I suggest buying sheets in a pattern you like that have the teal color you like, that would be the most economical, and have them made with either invisible zippers or like pillow cases.

(Also have made out of densely woven white cotton, several pillow protectors with zippers for them.)

Then buy king sized sheets in the same pattern and have a couple of duvet covers made as well with whatever kind of closing you prefer, zipper, or velcro or button.

And then you can buy for your regular pillows plain white pillow cases, or if you really want to punch up the color, teal pillowcases, and you can get a teal throw for the end of the bed.

You can either get new lamps or paint the ones you have.

I don't think you need any molding or trim at the top of your wardrobe, it looks just fine to me.

The knobs on the wardrobe look fine too, and you don't need to replace them either, unless it is difficult for you to open the doors.

I think a bit more tailored bedding and I do not love teal IMO often looks cheap and belongs in a kids room. Maybe some glass based lamps in blue glass and white shade and i love a softer blue in bedrooms and it works well with the gray walls too Lucite handles could add just that last bit of bling and these would also give you the choice to add a bit of gold somehwere else and I would love to see faux silk drapes on those

    windows
