What location? What size DW? Propane or nat gas? What do you do about AC? The warranty offered on the AmStd, a manufacturer’s warranty or a dealer warranty? Makes a difference.

1500 square foot, both systems will come with a new coil and 3 ton American standard straight cool condenser, the differences I see on paper are the thermo pride comes with a Mortex coil a standard 1inch filter and a psc blower, the American standard come with their aluminum coil, 5inch filter box and a constant torque motor. both are natural gas and the 10yeae labor warranty is offered from the dealer, they have been around for ages in my area so I would honestly trust them

dealer warranties can be problematic...do you have model numbers on the AS furnace, coil , and outside condenser?....I prefer the AS but would ask for a deduct for dealer warranty...then make your decision....

Ask how much extra the 10 year third party labor warranty is and get the name of the company. A 10 year labor warranty should be around $600-$800 (check if it requires an annual "service" to be provided by the dealer in order to maintain it - a good company won't insist on this but its a golden egg for most others). The rest may be the upcharge for the AS Furnace.

All things considered, I'd go with the AS system. If money is an issue, I'd ditch the tankless and go with a regular gas water heater.

I did forget to mention the yearly service is required to get the 10 labor, but comes with it in the contract, no charge every year but I have to call to set up the appointment once a year which wouldn’t be hard to remember. I’m not necessarily worried about the 1,500 upcharge just wanting to make sure it’s worth it

Update, i was having some airflow issues so before they went replacing the system they can a inspection camera down my trunk lines and they are trashed, rusted and in some areas rusted through. so now my options are to replace ductwork with the system for an additional 2 grand. Or do a 3 zone lg red ductless for 6k. The mini split is appealing because I would have zoning, no duct loss and would still have backup resistance heat. My only concern is reliability
