You could plant sedums with different foilage color and flower color & shape for a look that is is effective from late until late fall. I massed in the front of one bed autumn charm (white & green varigated foliage), xenox (burgundy foliage), red cauli (burgnedy stems) , cloudwalker (blue geen foliage), abbeydore and sunkissed (yellow flowers). Xenox & Sunkissed tend to be taller so I cut them back about 1/3 in early June to keep them from flopping.
