Do you have a rub in another bathroom in your home, if so a lovely walk in shower would be better than a tub taking up space.

Yes we do have a bathtub in our guest bathroom.

With another tub I would go for it. In our last house we did exactly what you are proposing Nd never regretted it because we have a bathtub in a hall bathroom.

go for it - getting rid of tubs is a pretty standard thing to do in a remodel.

We are doing it now, and don’t even have any other tubs. Ours is huge and also gets dusty and needs cleaning even though we don’t use it, looking forward to a bigger shower!

Assuming it's acrylic, a Sawzall will make short work of it. If cast iron then a sledge hammer (very satisfying!).
