Selecting an induction range

My current range is a gas GE XL44, and my first choice would be a Blue Star RNB, but we have a ventilation issue that is going to be VERY expensive to solve (more than the cost of an RNB w/custom color), so that's likely out. If I can't do that, induction is my second choice for power and responsiveness w/o needing quite as much ventilation.

I cook virtually every day, pretty much entirely from scratch. I roast more than I bake, but I do bake, also.

I'm considering a few induction ranges. Parameters are freestanding, 30", 4 cubic foot oven min, $6000 max. Conventional knob controls preferred over touch controls. Color options preferred over stainless. My top contenders are:

Bertazzoni - good hob layout & power, attractive color options

Beko - extra large oven, so/so hob layout, carbon fiber option

Fulgor Milano - somewhat more expensive, but otherwise fine

I'd appreciate any thoughts or other options to consider. No Samsung.

I have an LG slide in induction range (with knobs) - it has a 6.3 cu ft oven, 5 elements, and a warming drawer I've never used. I've had it about 3 years, and I'm very happy with it. It's significantly less than $6K, but it is stainless steel on the outside (but has a cool bright blue on the inside).

@Joseph Hodge - Have you purchased anything yet? I'm interested in the 36 inch FM Induction Rangetop. It was reported on a thread here that the FM is heavier and seems better built than the Bertazzoni. I'm worried about service in the US - I can only find a showroom in NYC and not sure how service would be in my area ( 1 hour away).

No, I have some family financial challenges due to COVID, so I've paused the project until that resolves. I've see the FM gas range, and it certainly is heavily built. The basic chassis probably carries over to their induction unit, but I haven't seen that in person.

I'm sorry about the challenges you are facing. I am hopeful that we can get through this pandemic in the not so distant future. It has been difficult to navigate. I will continue to see what I can find out about the FM induction rangetop and report back.

I hope you've experienced some respite from the covid induced challenges you referred in your post....have you moved forward with your induction range? I too am considering a FM.
