They are tropicals. They will freeze dead, completely dead at temperatures below freezing, as in dead. You can plant them in the ground in your flower bed as annuals or dig them up for winter storage before they get killed dead.

There are species of yucca that can be grown outside, even in zones as low as 5. They will not produce a tall stalk or trunk like those in your photo but otherwise look quite similar. However, they tend to have rather sharp, pointed leaves so I'd wonder about their suitability around a pool.........

As a rule of thumb, with a few exceptions, anything in the house plant section is a houseplant.... unless you live in the tropics. Also look around where you live. If you don’t see the plant growing outdoors in winter that’s telling you something.
