Is the settee used as functional seating or is it just a companion to the clock? Because I could see the settee and clock switching spots with the settee tucked in the corner diagonally, a nice piece of art above it. Turn it into a little vignette or nook of its own. Otherwise, can the clock find another home? Would it make sense (or even fit) on the short wall? Without seeing the whole space, it's hard to suggest things but I'm sure you have options if you think about how you're using each piece in your space.

The contrast between the white clock and the cream TV stand is not helping, I don't think. Love to see more pics of the entire space.

You could probably use the help of a decorator. Hire one for two hours of advice, will be money well spent. Sorry to say, but what you have right now is never going to work in the space. A pro will be able to help you.

Without seeing rest of room or how big that entry way is, you could move clock further along wall towards opening and add a small table with art above or an arched vintage mirror to balance things, you might be able to shift sofa or move forward

The first issue is that the TV is too wide for the cabinet below it which looks like it might be a repurposed kitchen cabinet. A TV credenza should be at least 25% wider than the TV. Then, as remarked above, the white clock conflicts with the ivory cabinet. Seeing the little bits and pieces of other items in your photos, I question whether the style of the settee and clock even belong in this room. Can you ID the gray line going across that wall? More pix of all your spaces and options would help us help you.

Before you decide on art, you need to figure out the furniture placement. The settee is too far from other seating, and I can't imagine you would ever use it there. I would just center the clock on that wall, so it doesn't look crammed into the corner, and move the settee to another area. It may work somewhere else in the room, or maybe in a bedroom or entryway.

I am finding it hard to visualize anything else in that area. The clock seems out of place in terms of color, size, and location in the room relative to other pieces. If you remove the clock, you will have way more decorating options.

Also, I’m aware of the clashing white clock with the TV stand. I plan on painting the clock once I can decide what color I’d like it to be. Also, the clock can be moved but I really liked seeing the time in this spot. I’ve suggested to my husband moving it over but he likes that the settee in kind of in between both rooms and if there are people in our back area (kids play area) they can still be seen/converse with the family room. Always an option though and we can definitely switch it around to see.

The gray line on the wall as mentioned in the original post is just where a piece of wood used to be that held up a very heavy mirror. It will be painted.

Also I know the TV stand may be all wrong but it’s new and it’s staying. It was difficult to find something that fit on the wall and didn’t look ridiculous underneath the gigantic tv (🙄) lol so that’s not going anywhere.

It's a nice space, and I really like your textured rug. I'd still center the clock on the wall and move the settee. You could try it angled in the dining room where you have your tall plant, or in your second living area where you have the chair.

Nice space! Did I miss a pic of the whole TV stand wall? What's to the right of the TV stand? The clock and settee are nice pieces but aren't singing together in that spot as they are right now. As for finding a TV stand that works well enough but isn't perfect for a room, I can certainly relate. (For many of us, much to Houzz Pros' consternation, furnishing a room includes compromises. Yet life goes on. :)) Would it make any sense to paint the TV stand? Wondering out loud here. Colours are hard to trust on a screen.

I would switch settee and clock and reevaluate.
Also, thinking outside of the Box, could you place tall vases or statues or ?? (something that fits) on both sides of the table underneath the TV and see if that balances it out?

This is the whole TV stand wall. I thought about painting it also but it’s a job and I’m due with my second baby any day now lol so that’s going to have to wait. It’s really a nice piece from Ballard and wasn’t cheap so I’d rather avoid painting it. It does however match the rug perfectly.

I can definitely add something next to it to balance it out (glass vase can be moved and I have a taller one also)

I like the idea of switching around the settee and clock. I will work on trying to convince my husband. If that works, what kind of art do you suggest? One big picture? Or is a mirror still the better option? This was my original question lol

The clock would look beautiful painted dark grey/black I think and would contrast well and make a statement on that wall by itself. Center the console under the tv and add something on either side to balance it out. Maybe some tall square vases. Or just the seat there with a small table and a mirror above.

What a lovely house and congratulations on the new baby. A couple of quick thoughts. The media cabinet is a terrific piece of furniture and works so well with the rest of your house. If you added a couple of larger accessories on top of it, that would visually tie the tv to the cabinet. If you paint the wall behind the tv a deeper color (when you have time of course), the tv recedes a little.

Using a larger, more opaque accessory than the glass vase - like a basket - layered over the corner helps ties everything together too. I love your clock and where it is and wondered if you considered a sage green or a taupe color (lighter than the tv wall if you decide to paint that deeper)?

I think some sweet art above the settee, and even a neutral patterned pillow on it, would create a beautiful vignette.

Loving all of these ideas! Thank you so much for taking the time to work it out for me. I really appreciate it! Sometimes you’re just so stuck and you need another set of eyes to help you.

I love the idea of the clock painted a darker color and centered on the wall but this is the only spot I can put my Christmas tree in so I don’t know what I’d do with the clock then. (I want to anchor it to the wall because, kids lol) so it won’t be easily mobile.

I also love the idea of the darker wall so the TV isn’t so “in your face”. I never really put much underneath it because I find it sometimes distracting but I think I can definitely decorate small with some natural decor. It needs it.

I have a basket I can move there! We use it for extra pillows and blankets so I will try that. Thanks again everyone and if you think of something else I can do to keep my Christmas tree/clock/settee area there let me know! Haha 😆
