How does a co-op know what type of sink you have?

I’ve used the godMorgan vanities with custom tops. I used quartz and an under mount sink but lost the top drawer in the process (it became a false front). Higher up on the scale you could get a custom corian top made with an Integrated sink and built up edge. Maybe some sort of can trap so the top drawer could still be partially used.

@Joseph Corlett, LLC - they do regular inspections of everything installed. And our contractor realized the IKEA sink only uses the IKEA type of plumbing!

@HALLETT & Co. Thanks - that sounds good to know what yo've used. We actually are hoping for a drop-in to avoid having to also get countertop put in. I've attached a picture of our current set up!

We're looking for a sink similar to IKEA's Odensvik (also pictured) but it has to be a non-IKEA one that has overflow integrated and uses traditional drain pipes. We ordered this one (https://www.build.com/kingston-brass-ev4024/s501346?uid=1505456) and will post if it fits!

I installed a godmorgon, so I know what the weird plumbing looks like underneath. they're next to impossible to customize if your setup doesn't fit their design perfectly.

for mine, it was tricky to set the cabinet where I wanted it to be because the wall pipe was not in the right spot. but worse, the 1.5" ikea pipe was too big for the 1.25" wall pipe. I had to add a reducer. all of this caused the entire setup to be too bulky. it took an entire weekend to figure out how to rig it so the drawers would close! I had to use a flexible PVC pipe, and had to remove a little bit off the back of the lower drawer (but not the upper).

the reason I'm telling you this is because my "hacks" were not ideal, and that flexible pipe I used is a no-no for your condo. if the new non-ikea sink you just ordered is not easy to install straight out of the box, do yourself a favor and call a plumber. save yourself from the headache I went through!

edit: I see that you only ordered a sink, not a new cabinet. I suppose I'll leave up my long winded post in case somebody else buys a godmorgon.

I wonder how big of a chunk you'll have to take out of your top drawer to fit the traditional plumbing? let me know how it goes!

Update: the sink we bought fit the dimensions, but the manufacturing wasn't the greatest -- the sink itself wobbled due to a poor mould. I would NOT recommend sinks by Kingston Brass. We're trying another sink - will post if we find a fix!

How did this go I myself am in a similar predicament where I want the odensvik but its the wrong color. So I am looking for Odensvik like sink.

have you tried actual bath stores? they'll have access to vast catalogs. if you didn't want to go in person, maybe they could work virtually with you -- where you send them inspiration photos and measurements.

This is amazing! I was just looking for a non-Ikea sink that could work with the godmorgon cabinet. Would you mind explaining what you mean by needing to cut the shelves down to accommodate the plumbing? Is this the sides of the drawers?

ttuan, the ikea cabinet is designed for plumbing that goes straight back and then sits flush against the wall, so they're out of the way of the drawers. like this:

traditional plumbing points straight down. so you'd need to cut slots in the backs and bottom of each drawer to clear the pipe. and also you'd want to build little interior walls so items don't fall out of the drawers. they would end up "U" shape, kind of like this:
