Not sure why your hood is floating above your backsplash, but I would get that lowered. You can purchase additional cover for the vent pipe

Add some framed botanicals to the eating area.

Or add fabric Roman Shade Valances above the windows to make the room appear more finished.

I can see two brightly colored framed pictures above the black tile on either side of the vent. Something food related.

Can you have an electrician install another outlet behind the vent so you don't see the cord? It might have to be a clock outlet to accommodate the plug flush with the wall.
