Anyone growing Celestine ?

I keep going back to that one on the Palatine site. I love the color and it looks short enough to be happy in a pot.
I have never seen anyone post a picture and that makes wonder why.
Does anyone grow Celestine and what is your opinion?

I guess that no one is growing this rose and thst makes me kind of nervous

Hi Kristine, I am growing Celestine, this is it's second season with me. I like it, it's short, and a fairly heavy bloomer. I live in a difficult area for roses to grow, so most of mine get blackspot at times, but Celestine just goes on blooming. I love the color too. I would think it would do great in a pot.

I love the unique color. This rose just glows, and of course, mossy's photos are wonderful, too. Diane

Thanks, all. I don't bend that well anymore, and it's a low grower, so I haven't gotten a good fragrance from it, but it is supposed to have some. ( My nose is also deficient.)

This made me laugh !! I don’t really sniff mine often either unless they are at the perfect height . Especially since I sniffed a bug up my nose which was especially horrific. Ughh 😫

I shovel pruned Celestine after its first year as it was not clean enough in my BS haven without spray. Might be great elsewhere!

@Lilyfinch - OMG! I’m always afraid of that so I’m hesitant to put my nose in any flower. 😬

Jen, lol, im not sure I would have so been calm

In such a situation, one is typically calm on the outside and screaming one's head off on the inside.

First season with Celestine and I am in love with this rose, enough so that I am getting a second one. It has been a non stop bloomer, and that color, my goodness it is hard to describe but if you like a splash of vibrant color, that doesnt take up a bunch of space, I highly recommend Celestine.

I love it, too, Kristine, you lucky girl. Diane

Im going to put the new one in front of Cinco de Mayo. This is my year to add some crazy wild combinations

Kristine, I love crazy wild combinations. They usually turn out spectacularly and even better than expected. They make me think of Kaffe Fassett and Chihuly, two artists who are bold with color. Can't wait to see what you do. You are braver than I. My attempts at crazy and wild have been pretty tame compared to what I think we'll see from you.

Flowers, I have large areas of calm, restful roses. Lavenders and creams. Peach and yellows and they are very nice. But last summer in my zinnia seeds of hot orange, I got 2 plants that turned out to be hot pink

The pop of color with the peach and yellow was pretty fun and unexpected but, . It is one thing to go crazy with inexpensive annuals but planting crazy combinations with roses is a little scary.

Oh, who am I kidding? You know I am pretty gutsy about color lol . It must be a throwback to my old hippie days and all of the psychedelic colors

I wonder if my husband will notice his new planting bed filled with roses?

Carol, dang girl, my RX for you is plenty of time in the recliner, legs elevated and some delicious pie. Preferably Pecan . Read a good book, listen to Christmad carols and relax.

I miss Lisa too, I hope all is well.

    So many friends missing.

Lilyfinch, we need to hear more from you.

Seil, Ingrid, straw, Kitty, Ben, miss you

Kristine - thanks...I have definitely been relaxing...but no pie...trying to save my liver. Boooo!

I love screaming colors...but then someone posts pictures of their wonderfully beautiful creams/pastels...and I'm like...I should do that...it's gorgeous!!! :)
