I think it looks fine. Lots of bathrooms are done with mirrors in various colors and finishes that don’t exactly match the fixtures. They‘re functional, obviously, but also design accents.

Not a pro... I have a hard time wrapping my brain around too many finishes. I’ve been known to find something I love and paint it. In your case I would paint the mirror black (spray paint, lots of online tutorials) and put a chrome fixture above it. But I’m just a super concrete unimaginative homeowner who likes projects.

she has a black and white bathroom. using a black rimmed mirror is hardly black overload

It is definitely ok to mix metals, I would add some greenery to the room/counter top (maybe a nice low light pothos plant). In the end it boils down to personal opinion and the main question is - do you feel good about the space or do you feel like something should be different?
