Are you removing the 4 inch backsplash?

I am a believer in letting a busy granite be the star. I wouldn’t do color variation but would stick to a single color.

I would try to match your cabinets with a cream tile. Whites and creams can be paired sometimes but in your case those whites look too stark.

Would you consider a very light gray?

You have a lovely kitchen. The backsplash is often the hardest to choose and get right.

Yes that top lip is coming off. I brought home a bunch of greys thinking the original Choice was grey. But the granite has so many different colors of grey none looked right. the granite has white in it and The cabinets being cream are throwing me off

I agree - the countertop has a lot going on so keep the backsplash simple. I also agree with the color - a cream or pale grey, simple tile would work best. If you go with cream, a light grey grout may tie it all together beautifully.

We just finished our new kitchen and I also had the dilemma of wanting a backsplash that would not compete with the countertops yet match our off-white cabinets (SW alabaster.) After bringing home numerous tiles from tile stores we ended up going with the first one we had brought home from Menards of all places! It’s just off white enough to match the cabinets although with my poor photography skills it probably doesn’t show. It’s a “wavy” finish on the tile so it gives another dimension with the colors fighting each other. Probably not for everyone but we are very happy with it. Your cabinets and counter are beautiful!

LeAnda, when I did my kitchen 10 years ago, I put in a white backsplash because my cabinets were white. What could go wrong? Looked awful with my Giallo granite.

I needed to find a cream tile that bridged the white cabinet to the browns/ creams in the granite. I look in every store within a 20 mile radius.

One store had a tile that worked! So, you might have to do a lot of leg work.

Do you have a piece of the granite to take with you? That can help but you need to see it in your space to really judge.

Whites in granites are not pure white. If going cream you need to find one that is just a bit lighter than the cabinets. I would match more toward the cabinets because they are both seen vertically.

If trying gray, an extremely light gray could work.

What should have been exciting, turned out to be a nightmare.

This tile choice was amazing. But it took 6 months with the white one that I chose first and ripped out!

This is a stressful decision. Have you thought about a deep grey or black? It would pop and compliment. White or off white will fight with the cabinets and granite.
