I love your room and the things you have in it! I think from reading your post that you want to fluff the room up a bit. I have posted this picture because I think it has the 'feel' of your room possibly? Just guessing here though. This bed has a low profile as does yours so I think if you add a cool large rectangular picture over the bed will mimic a taller headboard.....also note the taller nightstands; you can find them narrow or wide and you need not have them match; maybe narrow on one side of bed and wider on other side of be for great storage. Also lamps should be as tall as top of picture. The room also has Roman shades. You might consider having dummy Woven Roman Shades made in place of the lace curtains or just operable woven roman shades. A soft wool blanket or Mattelasse bed coverlet might give you a new look too. I think your fireplace is beautiful; possibly a wooden plant stand with a fern on it and a period mantle clock....with another trailing plant, the age of your house tells me classic Victorian. I added this pic too because if you want a new bed, etc., upholstered headboards are very reasonable with online shopping....this style in a queen can be bad for a bit over 100 dollars on Amazon.com. Again nightstands as tall as bed and lamps as tall as top of headboard. This modernizes the room but is still classic and your floral curtains and dust ruffle will still work. Just some ideas! Couldn't resist the ferns and plant stands! Adds freshness to your room. Classic symmmetry.

HI -- Put the living room columns in the basement and have no columns in the living room or have new square ones made . Decorative columns can look dated . Photos would be nice of both rooms . Thx

Thank you for the feedback! I’m in agreement with the less is more. I was advised by some realtor friends that it could make the house more difficult to sell in 10/20years. But who has a crystal ball! Full traditional could make a comeback! In the meantime I will see how it looks without them!
