Love the table Betty. I'm thinking maybe the silver aluminum chairs would look really nice, blends with the buffet. Then some cusions with the hot pink or green from the artwork on the seats of the chairs.
The clear lucite chairs could still work I think, but my initial reaction was the silver chairs....I think sometimes they are called "Navy/Naval chairs" because they originated with the naval ships/military chow halls. I'll try and find a picture to attach

I like the idea of the silver aluminum chairs by bamamom. I have a wooden dining table and I bought IKEA Henriksdal chairs with white slipcovers to soften it up and mix it up a bit. Very inexpensive and the slipcovers are easy to wash in Oxyclean. I also have a white cowhide rug in my adjoining room and I think the white chairs help pull it all together...

Ok. Based on your recommendations I've looking everywhere for a comfortable chair and I found this options. I like the silver aluminum legs that go with the buffet. But I can't decide between the white or green ones...

They are quite pricey but I usually just like to inspire people and not suggest buying exactly what I post. The ones you chose look very nice and you have a very distinct and original style......in a good way! :))

Thank you! I really appreciate your comment. At fist I was looking at the Catifa 53... which were about the same price, and my husband loves the eiffel ones. When I found these (Ikea for $189) I thought they could do the job. But I am still undecided if I should keep the green ones or replace them for all white ones.

Table has a mid century look. Go a 1960s look. Retro. Dining chairs had low backs with fabric seat and wood legs. Google look.

Just saw pics. I like the white and green mix. Very nice.

On picture I like it but I'm on the fence about the two colours. They tie in with the painting but is that too obvious a choice? Would it be better to just let the painting take center stage? Try removing the green chairs and see what effect it has.

I like the mix and think they compliment your picture perfectly.

A white shag or flokati rug (assuming no children to throw spaghetti) would soften and complete the picture.

I love mixing the colors, and the green is perfect!

The green and white mix would be my preference but you sound unsure. The green plays off the artwork and ties everything together.

Yellow is interesting......it pulls out the colour from the smaller painting but also from the bird painting (the beak). I understand you being undecided!

If you have already bought the chairs (sorry I may have been mistaken that you are still looking), I think they look great together as is with the green accent chairs. With this combination, you don't even need a rug. You do need to be careful with scratches on the part of the table legs on the floor with chairs moving in and out. But after all, it's a very hard Rosewood table so it should be quite durable.

Bettynewell......LOVE your dining room! I, personal opinion here, love the mix you have with the green/white chairs....I would not worry with a rug under the table. So much easier to clean up spills on the hardwood!

Still think something needed to delineate the floor surface from the table top...area rug of some kind. The beauty of the table will stand out that much more.

If a rug is desired, how about something modern like this to tie in with the colors?
