Other than low and shrubby what features are you looking for?

I would like something like this, like a flowy, drapey look. I want something more unique, not just a typical shrub

Anything else you can think of low lying that might have some small white flowering in the spring/summer?

Drapey does not work unless it has something to drape down and over. Planted in the ground it would be flat and spreading. A single Spirea japonica cultivar would work. Has flowers, but it is not evergreen.

Fluffy? The blue flowered one is Hydrangea macrophylla. The variegated yellow grass is Hakonechloa macra, Japanese Forest Grass which probably will not be fond of full sun in NJ summers.

Low, mounding, evergreen and with white flowers.......how about candytuft, Iberis sempervirens?

Yes it will freeze in the winter and come back in the spring. It can dry nice, weathers depending, and you can leave it all winter and cut it down before new growth starts back in spring.

But it really needs shade, certainly afternoon shade. Morning sun would be OK. And it won't tolerate dry soil.

One last question re the Japanese forest grass. Would it be silly to plant it this fall, or it helps develope a better root system even though it dies? or should I just wait for the spring to get them in the ground? @laceyvail 6A, WV @Christopher CNC
