bathroom on main off kitchen

I have a 1938 home with a half bath sandwiched between the kitchen and a main floor bedroom.
We have demo’d the area and see that we have enough space to turn this into a full bath with walk in shower- which could double as an en-suite for the main floor bedroom.
The dilemma is - this also has to serve as the guest bathroom.
I do not like a door to a bathroom directly off the kitchen. No privacy!
But my spouse does not like the idea of the only entrance to the bathroom, as going through the bedroom. He plans to use this bedroom as his office.
We have figured out a way to create a short hallway from the kitchen that would wrap around into the bathroom.
The bedroom would have its own separate entrance- kind of like a Jack and Jill.
Is it best to have a separate entrance for guests? Is it just “ick” for guests to go through a bedroom/office, to use a bathroom?
Is it stupid to waste space on a hallway- the shower could be a full shower. We could have more storage.
But guests would have to walk all around through the dining, down a short hall, and through the bedroom, to use the bathroom.
I wish I could add photos but I cannot get that feature to work
Thanks so much for any thoughts!
