If you’re doing a different color, something lighter would be nice as the entrance looks dark in your picture.

Black could work if you don't want to keep door and sidelights and frame the same. Whether you keep them the same or paint the door black (or another color) you might consider adding matching hardware: a metal kick plate to the bottom of the door as well as door knocker and door knob in the same metal finish to make the door the focal point -- perhaps even adding the the numbers for your street address in the same metal finish on your porch post. Since you already have a pair of black light fixtures, you might consider black ... unless you paint the door black, in which case you might consider stainless steel.

Great ideas — especially the kick plate as we use the door to bring in wood from front porch in the winter and we don’t have a knocker or even a doorbell!

I would not paint the door black, on a house that is a warm golden brown. If you want a contrast to the red, I would paint it blue in the same tone as the red.

Black would look good, but haw about a dark gray?

Or even a dark green?

Maybe it’s just word choice but I don’t think you need to differentiate the door from the windows with colors, they are already different, ones a door, the rest are windows. No one is going to confuse one for the other and that red looks great on the house. And while I agree adding more black would be good, add it in a much more substantial doormat , add it in two honking big planters flanking the door, etc.

I would punch up that door system with hammered iron door hardware and kick plate and paint it a woodsy green. Hard to do mock up this tiny but just to give you inspiration.

I like the turquoise type color for sure better than black unless you add huge blacl planters filled with seasonal colorful plants on either side of the door.

Would have never thought of the green and what’s interesting is our kitchen cabinets are almost that same exact color!
