Could sod turned upside down be used as topsoil too?

If you are thinking of actually removing soil beside a waterway, it's a devastating idea.

Sod flipped upside down is an excellent plan.

No just sod in my backyard not a waterway.

Long ago, we lived on property that bordered a laguna that flooded periodically. The soil was fabulous! You could dig down with your hands in August! We then lived in an area about 5 miles away that was pure adobe and there was no way of digging after the 2 week window for digging was done! It was like cement!

Wow! The soil here is diggable for 1 foot then its hard like clay.
