Jute ans sisal are definately not soft. Can you post at least a picture of the space. I often find a rug is the spot to add some color in a room. If you insist on this very plain rug I would do wool and any plain light colored rug will show stains much more that something with a bit of pattern and color.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting Thanks for the response.

I have a very floral sofa and chair and half in the room, that is why I want a plain area rug.

I just love the look and texture of those rugs. I was hoping that there was a look alike out there that was soft on the feet and knees.

Here is the sofa fabric.

Going to be adding two dark brown leather chairs to the room, as soon as they go on sale :-)

Anything nubby will not be easy to clean.

I just love this color area rug, but cannot find a look alike that is soft.

@JAN MOYER Thanks for responding.

That's a beautiful rug from Pottery Barn. A little high for my budget, but I love it.

Sounds like getting a remnant bound is the way to go.

Thank you!

You can probably find a cushy nylon remnant, and cut and bound? Under 400 .00 bucks. Or get a couple cheap shaggy now and then.!! Toss a big washable quilt on the floor beneath the babies.

I agree with going to the local rug store and get a remnant. You can get some great deals that way.

I am always grateful for everyone's help.

It's been a heck of a year. I will post more pictures as the room unfolds. Hopefully, in the New Year.

Thank you again.

This is a great rug for the price it is polypropylene ....very durable easy care..I think it would work very well with your red sofa fabric...

Have you seen Parker’s thread that I have helped with..she has red floral sofas and we did a neutral rug to lighten and brighten her space it looks beautiful...take a look at her dilemma...we started in her kitchen and ended up doing her LR..DR..hallway entry and master bedroom!

Will check out. Thank you.
