The entire west coast is under plumes of toxic smoke.... lives and homes have been lost... it feels somewhat petty or irreverent to be concerned with lingering smoke odors once this is all over.

On the other hand, our entire life savings is tied up in a house currently under construction. With no doors or soffits in, ash deposits accumulated on the floors, drywall, windows, and exposed fiberglass insulation and framing throughout the house interior.

Our contractor wants to push ahead (after a quick vacuuming) and seal things off. We are concerned about long-term, lingering odors from particulates that accumulated in the house (especially in the fiberglass). It's hard to find relevant information online...

Does anyone have any suggestions for assessing the damage? Insurance adjusters and remediation companies throughout the area are bound to be tied up with far more serious claims than ours, for a long time. We don't want to postpone construction for months..... but we also don't want to move into our brand new home and have a lingering smoke stench.

Anyone else in the same boat? Any suggestions for how to proceed?
