Not sure what they did there or what they been thinking when laying out this... but the hole near the wall looks like for the toilet, one pipe looks like its a 1 1/2" pipe which is for the sink drain and the other pipe looks like a 2" pipe which is for the shower drain.

Where do these pipes go? Is there a pit someplace or they tied into an under-slab drain?

I don't know where these pipes go, I was mainly just curious if they can be easily moved when we decide to finish our basement. They don't need to be moved too far, but the location is not ideal for a layout which we want. I will not be doing the plumbing work myself, but before we come up with a layout I just wanted to make sure that we don't have to necessarily design around the location of these. Why would they put the toilet so close to the foundation wall?

To move them you will have to break up the floor move them to a new location and make sure they are pitched properly and put the concrete back.

As to why they put them there and the way they put them because they were thinking of a different layout, or they were thinking god knows about what at the time or they just had no clue and just stubbed them out.

I do a lot of basement layouts for the homeowners and contractors, and the last 3 jobs I did was new construction they did the same thing, they just put the pipes in, connected them to the ejector pump pit, and stubbed them out close together and there is nothing you can do with them, all 3 homeowners had to break up the floor and re-rout them to make it work.

But on the list of home features, they specify that the basement plumbing is roughed in for a future bathroom.
