We measured to our cabinet bottom and then selected W/D set that met the clearance. Every top loader has a different "lid open" height. Several models would not have worked in our laundry room without removing the cabinets and raising them. I was told wall cabinets are often hung about 54-55 inches from the floor, and ideally bottom of cabinet is 18 inches from counter. An expert may know more than I......good luck!

You mean the door clearance to the bottom of the upper wall cabinets? That really depends on your washer model. The best way to figure that out is to measure the washer door from the hinge to the top when it's in the open position. For argument's sake, let's say that measurement is 18". I'd leave at least another 2-3 inches above that to mount the bottom of the wall cabinet.
