Central Massachusetts zone 5b.

My neighbor has over-seeded a good portion of his lawn 3 weeks ago and the germination is not as robust as he had hoped for.

Four weeks prior to seeding he spot sprayed the heavy crabgrass area's with Image Weed and Crabgrass Killer.

He waited the recommended 28 days after applying the weed killer, spread a thin layer of loam in the bare spots applied starter fertilizer and over-seeded with Jonathan Green's Black Beauty Ultra ( a perennial rye, tall fescue, KBG blend).

He ran over the seeded areas with a slice seeder to a depth of 1/4".

He is watering 3 times a day for 10 minutes per zone to keep the lawn moist.

The over-seeded areas are thin.

Soil temperature is between 60-65F.

We are assuming rye is up but no signs of fescue or KBG as of yet.
